Global Frozen Potatoes Market Overview 2018

In 2017, the amount of frozen potatoes exported worldwide totaled X tonnes, increasing by X% against the previous year. In general, the total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2007 to 2017: it volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last decade.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2017 figures, the frozen potatoes exports increased by +X% against 2012 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008, an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the global frozen potatoes exports attained its maximum volume in 2017, and are expected to retain its growth in the near future.

In value terms, frozen potatoes exports stood at $X in 2017. In general, the total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2007 to 2017: it value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2017 figures, the frozen potatoes exports increased by +X% against 2015 indices. Global exports peaked in 2017, and are likely to continue its growth in the immediate term.

Frozen Potatoes Exports by Country

Saudi Arabia (X tonnes) was the key exporting country with an export of around X tonnes, which accounted for X% of total exports. India (X tonnes) ranks second in terms of the global exports with a X% share, followed by the U.S. (X%), Spain (X%), and the Netherlands (X%). Belgium (X tonnes), the UK (X tonnes), China (X tonnes), Egypt (X tonnes), and South Africa (X tonnes) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Saudi Arabia increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2017. At the same time, India (+X%), the U.S. (+X%), Spain (+X%), China (+X%), the UK (+X%), and Belgium (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest growing exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2017. South Africa experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Egypt (-X%), and the Netherlands (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Netherlands (X%) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2007-2017, the share of China (-X%), Spain (-X%), the U.S. (-X%), India (-X%), and Saudi Arabia (-X%) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X), the U.S. ($X), and Spain ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2017, together comprising X% of global exports. China, Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, India, Egypt and South Africa lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

India (+X% per year) had the highest rates of growth with regard to the exports, in terms of the main exporting countries, over the last X years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Frozen Potatoes Export Prices by Country

The average frozen potatoes export price stood at $X per tonne in 2017, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Overall, frozen potatoes export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011, when the average export prices increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the average export prices for frozen potatoes reached its maximum level of $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2017, the country with the highest export price was South Africa ($X per tonne), while Saudi Arabia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2017, the most notable growth rate of export prices was attained by Egypt (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
