Johannesburg, South Africa — The Hollard Farming Portal Junior Agriwriters Awards, an initiative proudly sponsored by Hollard Agri in collaboration with CRA Media, celebrated its winners yesterday at the historic Villa Arcadia on the Hollard Campus in Parktown. This initiative highlights the next generation of voices in agriculture, inspiring fresh perspectives and impactful storytelling within the sector.

At the event, Heleen Viljoen was awarded the top honour in the technical category, while Carla Myburg took first place in the General category. Both winners demonstrated exceptional insight and skill, raising the bar for young agricultural writers across the country.

Commenting on the competition, Andries Wiese from Hollard expressed admiration for the quality of work produced by the finalists. “The standard of writing we saw was exceptional—on par with, and even exceeding, some of the professional work in the industry today. This speaks to a promising future for agricultural journalism, which aligns closely with Hollard’s commitment to creating a better future for all.”

Through initiatives like the Junior Agriwriters Awards, Hollard Agri and CRA Media are committed to fostering and promoting new voices in agricultural reporting, highlighting important issues within the sector, and advancing the industry’s positive impact on society.
