Alani’s career as an agricultural journalist began during an editorial meeting at OFM, when she was able to tell the editor more about a dairy cow. She has 18 years of experience as a journalist in agriculture and during that time she focused, among other things, on the online media world at various institutions. She is currently a senior multimedia journalist at Landbouweekblad, and her main focus areas include climate issues, the red meat industry, the grain industry, politics, crime and wine. Alani is known for her deeply thoughtful reporting and her ability to capture the heart of agricultural stories. Her journalistic work has brought attention to unsung heroes in rural communities, and she often uses her platform to give a voice to female farmers and researchers making an impact in South Africa’s agri-industry.
