- According to Cape Wools, the wool market showed resilience at the season's seventh auction and erased some losses from the previous sale. The All-Merino indicator rose 2,6% to close at R252,50/kg, and the certified indicator rose 2,9% to close at R258,30/kg. Most bales on offer were long, fine micron wools. The auction recorded a sales clearance of 93,9%.

- Parliament is processing a Second Special Appropriation Bill that would withdraw R10 billion from the National Revenue Fund to help stabilise fuel prices and shield consumers from ongoing volatility. The Standing Committee on Appropriations has adopted its report on the bill, which was tabled by the Minister of Finance on 31 July 2026.
