South Africa Farming and Agriculture- May 2023
The minister of agriculture, land reform and rural development, Thoko Didiza, today announced funding allocations to mitigate food security in the country through a R1.2 billion cash injection for small-scale farmers.
The government has set up a fund to enable young black farmers to participate in lucrative agricultural value chains, it said.
Farmers will soon be able to apply for funding to invest in alternative energy sources to help alleviate the affect of load-shedding on irrigation and cold chain activities.
