  • Managed bees versus wild bees? It’s not that simple in South Africa

There's widespread concern about the global decline of honey bees and the associated loss of pollination services.

  • Honey production at all-time low

Honey production in the United States is at an all-time low. In the March 13 Honey report, the US Department of Agriculture said that US honey production in 2025 totaled 116 million lbs, down 14% from 2024 and the lowest amount the United States has ever produced in one year since records were started in 1939. That’s a concern because, unlike other sweeteners, consumer demand for honey is on the rise.

  • How conventional soy farming starves honey bees

significant, multi-year study published Monday provides new evidence that commodity crop production can be detrimental to honey bees, putting colonies at risk by depleting their access to food.

  • Have a sweet tooth for honey? This is why there might soon be a shortage…

Beekeepers in China, the world’s top honey producer, are bracing for a bleak start to the key spring pollinating season as travel curbs aimed at containing a coronavirus outbreak keep them at home while their bees go without food for weeks.

  • Honey bee life spans are 50% shorter today than they were 50 years ago

A new study by University of Maryland entomologists shows that the lifespan for individual honey bees kept in a controlled, laboratory environment is 50% shorter than it was in the 1970s.

  • When the sweetest thing on Earth turns foul

Is it surprising that, in a country where everything is contaminated with the cynical grime of the criminal mindset, even much of our “honey” is the work of people for whom the term “fraudster” would not seem inappropriate?

  • Researchers Revisit Ancient Honey & Vinegar Mixture To Stop Infections

The mixture of honey and vinegar, also known as oxymel, has been used as a medical treatment throughout history and now scientists have established that this combination could have modern applications in the treatment of wounds.

  • Plants need nutrients to grow and reach their maximum genetic potential. There are 17 most important nutrients for plants, all different pieces of the very same puzzle.
