Former German ag journalist and ACO fan Matthias Mumme is going to publish a book about the story of ACO tractors, which were produced by Alph and Koos Coetzer on their farm near Hoopstad from 1985 to late 1990s.
“I am working on this project for more than four years now, and hope to finish until mid of 2021”, he says. “For my research I visited South Africa three times, taking pictures of ACO tractor at work, speaking to owners and former ACO employees and to the former ACO owners. I could collect a lot of information, but some is missing – for example some brochures and also pictures from Nampo or other Farmers or Field Days”.
So Matthias Mumme calls for every kind of ACO material, such as brochures, pictures, old media articles, especially from the 1980s and 1990s, but also for customer experiences with ACO tractors.
