MISLEADING EXPECTATIONS FOR 2020 - South Africa

Fanie Brink, Independent Agricultural Economist

"The misleading expectations about this year's economic outlook, which some academics, economists and investment advisers have already created since last year, will never realise and is a total delusion and very alarming," says Fanie Brink, an independent agricultural economist.

He says most of these expectations are completely contrary to the facts and realities of the ANC government's destructive political and economic policies that are in the process of totally destroying the economy.

Brink referred to the article by professor Raymond Parsons, economist at the North-West University's business school, who named "5 solutions for SA's economy in 2020" that appeared on Netwerk24's website today.

Brink says there is no possibility that "both the state of the nation speech and the February budget speech" could provide any evidence "that the government will make and implement the tough decisions to reverse the economy." It is pure wishful thinking!!

The president, Cyril Ramaphosa, is even less able to convey a "coherent impression of South Africa's economic direction". Its economic advisory panel - which includes experts from around the world - "may play a useful role," but it may be asking too much from a number of academics who do not have practical knowledge and experience in the business sector or about the economic conditions in South Africa. The expectation is that it will not yield much!

The indaba referred to by professor Parsons should be a "very good opportunity" for BUSA to reaffirm its full support for the ANC's destructive policies as contained in the National Treasury's growth plan. The growth plan is nothing more than the further intended implementation of the ANC's ideology of socialism and communism without any idea how economic growth is being created in almost all the countries in the world today!!

Professor Parsons' claims are utterly outrageous as he believes the growth plan contains all the steps "needed to create growth and jobs, improve state finances, stabilise and restructure Eskom, accelerate infrastructure projects and to create good labour relations. "There is also no fork in the road" for a bigger, stronger and better economy "but only the very clear point to the abyss after the final destruction of the economy and the country which will not be prevented through political correctness.

If there is one aspect in the interest of creating economic growth, prosperity and progress in the country this year, then it is that the fallacies and the overall misleading prospects for 2020 are at the forefront so that the real facts and realities of the ANC government's destructive ideology can be more clearly understood.

"These misleading expectations about the ANC's destruction process are not a solution to any of the serious problems facing the country," Brink said.
