John Steenhuizen - As we commemorate the 1976 youth, the class of 2025 faces disruption from AI, reshaping industries and diminishing traditional careers, especially for rural South African youth. Agriculture, however, offers opportunity rather than displacement. AI in Agriculture: Unlike finance or retail, where AI automates repetitive tasks, agriculture benefits from AI by enhancing productivity and empowerment. It supports adaptation and decision-making in unpredictable environments, removing drudgery and equipping youth with tools for precision, profitability, and growth.

Inenting is nodig as aanvullende maatreël.

World Crocodile Day, celebrated annually on June 17, promotes awareness of crocodile conservation and habitat protection, with the 2024 theme being "Connecting Crocodiles and Communities." Nile crocodiles, evolving around 80 million years ago, number between 250,000 and 500,000 in Africa, with about 10,500 in South Africa. Crocodile farming in South Africa, starting in the 1960s, includes over 80 farms, mainly in Limpopo, North West, and KwaZulu-Natal. Crocodiles are bred for hides, used in luxury leather goods, and meat, exported globally.

South Africa's agricultural export focus means the country must always keep an open eye for any potential new market expansion. One country that has consistently been on our radar is China. The country's dominance in global agricultural imports, stable economy, large population, and current low penetration by South Africa's agriculture make it an ideal area for expansion. Farming isn’t your typical 9-to-5 gig. It’s a lifestyle that demands early mornings, late nights, and plenty of time operating machinery or walking the land. That’s where Audiocast shine. They’re hands-free, portable, and don’t care if you’re covered in dirt or steering through a muddy field. Unlike a book or a video, a Audiocast doesn’t ask you to stop what you’re doing—it joins you in the cab, the shed, or wherever the day takes you. And farmers are listening. Surveys suggest that a significant chunk of the agricultural community—some estimates say over a third—tune into ag-related podcasts regularly. Whether it’s catching up on market trends, learning about the latest in soil health, or just hearing a good story from another grower, these audio shows have become a go-to resource.

   BRANDSTOF
